    Granwood Floors
There are many Granwood floors around the world that are in sports centres, offices, schools and many other places. Granwood flooring is made up from wood fibres that are stuck together to make a tile block. Granwood flooring is installed like a tiled floor, the blocks are stuck down with an adhesive. Once the Granwood blocks have been laid and set, the floor will then need to be sanded flat and level as well as be buffed to a smooth surface. The Granwood flooring then needs to be lacquered with 3 coats of granguard to protect and conserve the floor. Granwood sports flooring are very tough and heavy duty floors, ready for lots of high traffic. These are great features for flooring as the floor will last a lifetime if the correct maintenance is followed.

Granwood sports floors is also very hard and durable surface which is great for sports as it has high traffic passing over the sports floor all of the time. Granwood is also laid on top of sprung wooden flooring giving it a bit of flex in the sports floor. Installing granwood floors over a sprung sports floor is called Gransprung sports flooring. Granwood and Gransprung sports flooring is an excellent choice for sports flooring as it is low maintenance due to the very hard wearing and high gloss lacquer that is applied to finish the floor.

When Granwood floors gets refurbished and sanded it creates lots of very fine dust that gets in the air. To prevent the fine dust making a mess everywhere, there are high powered vacuums that will extract all of the dust. When sanding a Granwood sports floor it can be sanded and buffed to an extremely smooth finish, but it is important not to sand too much out of the Granwood blocks as they can wear too thin and start to crumble, it will also make the Granwood blocks go a darker yellow colour. When Granwood sports flooring has been over sanded, it is normally time for a new sports floor to be installed. Sometimes it is not necessary to completely sand the floor if it's not too badly damaged as it can just be lightly buffed and cleaned followed by two coats of Granwax granguard lacquer. When a sports floor gets resealed it is important to touch up any sports line markings before resealing, as the seal protects the sports line markings.

Granwood flooring needs to be maintained properly if it is to last a long time. In order to maintain a Granwood floor it is important to keep the floor as clean as possible, especially keeping any grit or small grains of dirt off the floor. Grit is the worst thing for a Granwood floors lacquer as it will wear and scratch the flooring. It is also important to get the Granwood floors resealed regularly as to protect the floor and prevent the need for sanding it as much. The more the Granwood blocks get sanded then the less time the floor will last as the blocks are only so deep. Granwood floors is no different to any other type of sports floors, so make sure to maintain it and to keep it clean to make it last as long as possible.

Sports Surfaces That Can Be Refurbished & Used For Any Sport
In many places around the world sports surfcaes is used on many different floors. Sports floors is no different to other types of flooring as it is made up of lots of different materials. Sports flooring demands high grip and this is the main difference between sports floors and normal floors. When selecting a sports flooring for your sports hall it is essential that you select one that has high grip that playing sports requires. To make it possible to play sports in sports halls then court markings are required. Sports flooring whether indoors our outdoors when used for multiple different games is called a MUGA (Multi Use Games Area). To get the most out of your sports flooring it is important to turn it into a MUGA so it can be used for different sports.

Sports halls get more uses and facilities than merely the flooring. Sports halls have dividing curtains and cricket net lanes so that the sports hall can be split into different sections and/or used for cricket practice. Being able to split the sports hall into different sectors is a good idea as this means that the sports hall can be rented out to different clients playing different sports. Sports halls are also used for aerobics classes and meeting areas. When using sports hall surfaces for meetings or parties, be sure to cover the sports flooring with a plywood or a specialised protecting carpet that can be purchased. If the sports hall surfaces is not covered up then it is likely that the sports floors will get damaged with stilettos, chairs and spilt drinks. Sports halls also have to have basketball goals in order to be able to play basketball. When choosing a basketball goal for your sports hall there are many different types from glass back boards to slam dunk rings.

There are many different court markings that are used in a sports hall that have to follow specific measurements and governing bodies. There is now a new style basketball court coming into action as of the 2012 Olympics. The main difference in the new style basketball court markings is that keys are now square instead of being the original key lock shape. This will make it more difficult for the players to score 3 pointers. The next biggest difference is that the keys are now not the original key hole shape but a rectangle shape and this make the players stand further back from the ring in any free throw shot. Court markings should also have enough run off space from the edge of the court to the sports hall wall in order to make it safe to play the specific sport.

In sports centres they have many different sports facilities apart form the sports floors, they will also have squash courts and fitness suites. Squash courts are an important part in a sports centre as they only use up a small space it is possible to have numerous squash courts. Squash courts need to be refurbished and maintained in order to keep them in optimum performance for playing squash. One of the most important parts of having a successful sports centre is to have great sports floors.
